Detention: Delinquents Empty Detention: Delinquents

Post by Quentin D'Angelo Mon Jul 08, 2013 7:45 pm

Quentin supposed he knew it was bound to happen sooner or later but that didn't mean he wasn't upset about getting detention. He showed up at the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom a little later than when he was supposed to and received a glare from Professor Cox who was hosting it. He smiled nervously as he passed by the professor. Maybe if he wasn't so tall compared to the eleven year old child, he wouldn't be so intimidating. Timidly he took a seat and waited to be told what the duty they were to preform would be.

Looking around, he spotted that the only other person accompanying him during this detention was a girl he had met before. "Ummm, Luna?" He tried to remember her name. "It was something cute, right? Lucille?" He was trying, really, but he had been so distracted with the awesome contents of the joke shop he had happened upon that he missed out on some other details. "So what brings you here?"

Detention: Delinquents Empty Re: Detention: Delinquents

She looked up as the boy entered the room. This was truly the worst place in the world to be and she hated it here. She hadn't even done anything really wrong. All she had done was show up 5 minutes late to class. It wasn't a crime, and she was just a new student, of course the were going to get lost in the massive palace. She smiled as the boy she'd met in the shop sat next to her. "It's Lucy." She reminded him as he continued to get her name wrong. She giggled at his mistake, it was kind of cute. "And you're Quinn." She chuckled softly. "I showed up 5 minutes to class, because I got a little lost in the hallways." She explained. "I think it's dumb...but y'know..." She sighed. "What are you in for..?" She asked...it almost sounded like they were in jail.

Detention: Delinquents Empty Re: Detention: Delinquents

"Yes! That was the one! Lucy!" Quentin replied, remembering clearly now that Lucy had reminded him of her name. He nodded when she got his name correct right off the back. "The one and only."

He thought that her story of how she ended up in detention was a bit harsh. She was a first year, after all, so getting lost was only reasonable. If Quinn didn't set out for class early like he did, he would probably find himself in that situation a lot more often. "That's rough, buddy," He noted, with a small frown. "But hey! Detention isn't too bad!" He tried to cheer her up, but in all honesty, he didn't know how bad detention was going to be. What kind of things did one do for detention? They were going to find out.

"I'm here because..." He dove his hand into his pocket where he pulled out a slip of paper with the formal reporting of his detention. "Mr. Quentin D'Angelo is assigned detention for causing a ruckus in class as well as not paying attention in class and trying to leave class early," He read from the sheet, using a mocking tone of the Professor's voice. "It's a really great story if you want to know how," He said, back to his normal voice, smirking slightly.

Detention: Delinquents Empty Re: Detention: Delinquents

Lucy laughed as he suddenly remembered her name. It was sweet. She smiled as he tried to cheer her up, about how the detention wasn't so bad. "I suppose not." She agreed, but she couldn't be too sure, seeing as how she'd never been in detention before in her life. All those years of being home schooled left her a little unprepared for the socialized world of Beauxbatons. However, she knew she could conquer it with an iron fist.

Lucy listened as he continued on about how he had ended up here because of disrupting class. His story made her chuckle a little bit. She couldn't imagine someone disturbing the class or anything like that. Tante, her teacher back at home, hadn't been super up-tight about the whole disruption thing, she honestly hadn't cared one bit. Lucy missed her and home, but she was enjoying Beauxbatons. She smiled as he told her it'd be a good story. She was excited to hear it, for what else could they do in detention?

Detention: Delinquents Empty Re: Detention: Delinquents

Professor Cox was always disgusted by the fact that he was often the preferred teacher to host detention, even though it often happened that the students who ended up with him received their parchment tickets to a day of discipline from Professor's other than him. He could honestly think of about ten other things he'd rather be doing than staying with a bunch of delinquent children.

He waited by the door of his classroom wearing a stern look as slowly the kids with detention filed in. He gave a generous amount of time for the children to show up, yet one kid still managed to be late. He scowled down at the boy as he motioned for the kid to enter the classroom. When he was sure no more were to show up, he went inside and closed the door.

"Good afternoon delinquents, though I suppose this isn't a good afternoon for you two. There will be no more idle chatter at this point!" The man scolded, his eyes resting on the blue haired boy that was gabbing away. He then loudly placed a bucket full of supplies on the desk in front of the boy. "As you may or may not have noticed, this closet in this classroom has an infestation of cornish pixies. For your punishment today, both Ms. Puchard and Mr. D'Angelo shall remove them for me, because I have better things to do. You may leave as soon as you finish," The Professor laid out the plan.

He left the pair to go about the task and settled himself into his own desk, where he pulled out a stack of essays to grade whilst the children fixed the problem. After all, he was only there to make sure the kids didn't fight. This was more like babysitting than an actual job.

Detention: Delinquents Empty Re: Detention: Delinquents

"So I was in flying class," Quentin started his story. "And I've been flying already for a few years now, so it was rather boring and I saw this guy had candy. Obviously I wanted some of that but he wouldn't give any to me, so I stole some and ran off with it and-" Then the big mean teacher came in and cut off his story. Quentin's eyes widened at the commanding voice and the blue-haired boy fell silent, listening to their prompt. He jumped as the bucket clanged loudly when it was placed in front of him.

From the closet in the corner of the room, he could hear the humming of the pixies. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat as he felt his was far too inexperienced for this task but knew there was no use in arguing with the Professor. As the Professor sat down at his desk and started scribbling with his quill, Quentin stood up and picked up the bucket and looked to Lucy. "Ready to give it a shot?" He asked nervously.
