The Perfect Wand Empty The Perfect Wand

Post by Guest Sun Jul 07, 2013 1:56 pm

This was the big moment, Caleb was going to get his wand the perfect one. He just hoped he wouldn't blow anything up and make a mess. But, he was one for doing those things, so he was ready to run if anything like that happened. He walked into the shop and looked around, this place had to be one of the greatest places he had ever been. He waited for other people to get their wands before he even attempted to try out a wand.

It was his turn at last. He picked up a wand, flicked it, and nothing happened. He was disappointed until he grabbed another wand and gave it a flick. Again, nothing happened. Why was he having so much trouble with getting a wand? He watched others and it only took them one try. It just wasn't fair. He picked up a third wand and gave it a flick. Bam! Wands and other items scattered around the room. "Oops!" He was so embarrassed, but it could have happened to anyone, right?

The Perfect Wand Empty Re: The Perfect Wand

Quentin had realized before that Amethyst alley was particularly crowded on this day with incoming students eager to buy their new supplies, so it hadn't come as much of a surprise when he entered the wand shop to find it was crowded as well. He took a seat on a worn down chair and watched as the witches and wizards who had come before him, one by one, got their wands. He was fascinated by the process. He was used to always having to make choices for himself, but this time it was the wand that was to choose him.

He went up after a little while and was handed a wand. With a flick, he accidentally set fire to a potted plant. The next one brought a wind that knocked some papers around. After about seven tries. He was finally given one that glowed warmly at his touch. A grin filled his face at the sight of it. "Bloodwood, 9 1/2 inches, unicorn hair core."

He stepped back to cash out with the wand and watched amusedly as another boy went to give his wand a try. The boy had also created a mess with the incorrect wand and Quentin laughed. He, himself, must of looked that silly before when he was trying. "With all of this nasty mistakes, I wonder how this shop even stays together," Quentin started, walking towards the blonde boy. "Quentin D'Angelo, at your service," He said, extending a hand to shake and striking a smile.

The Perfect Wand Empty Re: The Perfect Wand

Caleb was glad he hadn't been the only one to mess up and make a fool of himself. He had noticed the other boy try for a wand about seven times. Caleb wasn't as embarrassed as he had been before. "Oh, hi! I'm Caleb Miller." He laughed at the other boy's joke and wondered the same thing. How did this shop stay together? People did make a lot of mistakes after all. "I'm wondering the same thing."

He picked up another wand and flicked it, again it did nothing. "Why is this so hard?" He set it down and picked up another, flicked it and it did nothing. This was going to be hard than Caleb has thought. Usually things came easy to him, but this whole wand thing was taking a long time and becoming very difficult.
