Bright Lights, Big City

Post by Hanna Thorsdóttir on Sun May 08, 2016 2:21 am

Chicago is always the city that is forgotten when it comes to America, but it really shouldn't be. Erie, Pennsylvania, however, may be best left out of any of the tourist books that you can find in airports. When Hanna came to America, she expected a city that was bigger than Reykjavik, not smaller. Worse than the size is the feeling of decay in the air, like this place was at one point, perhaps thirty years ago, but those days are gone, and only car dealerships, a state park, and a tiny zoo is what was left. The dinky nature center towards the East side of Erie was the upshot. All of the small, fluffy animals were inside, seeing as it was winter, each animal type had it's own set of shelters, but no fence. Naturally animals felt no obligation to stay in their "Type", often meaning multiple species co-inhabited the sam shelter. Hanna could only think of how the whole "Freedom to move" thing would work out if a coyote or some such got in there. Fluffy Carnage.
