A Scared Flyer Empty A Scared Flyer

Cassandra looked around the field, nervous to fly for the first time. But she wanted to take Percy's advice and be more adventurous. What better way than flying? Her stomach churned and she felt uneasy. Maybe this was a bad idea, she thought to herself. She sighed and gripped her broom tighter, there was no backing out now. She was gonna do it. She was gonna fly. Butterflies filled her stomach as she got on her broom.

Was it too late to back out? Yes. Yes. Yes. She bit her lip and kicked her foot. She slowly lifted from the ground and let out a little squeal. "O-oh wow!" Her voice shook and she couldn't bare to look down. Afraid to fall, she looked ahead. She must gain more confidence and this is what she had to, right?

Her broom begin to wobble, she began to freak out. "Oh no!" But before she could gain control of her broom, she landed on the ground with a CRASH. She let out a yelp of pain, the worst feelingbshe had ever experienced. "Ow! Ow! Ow!" She held her broken arm close to her and tears ran down her face as she cried salty tears.

Christian couldn't find anything in the world he loved more than playing quidditch and flying on a broomstick. There was just something so calming and freeing about flying through the air with nothing besides a broom and yourself. He wasn't quite sure how muggles ever felt truly happy in their lives without the pure pleasure of having nothing between you and the world as you flew through the air. If you flew far enough you could even almost forget the broom and simply feel like a bird flying alone. He probably spent most of his time at Beauxbatons out on the quidditch pitch when it wasn't being used which was exactly where he was today. However once he got out there he found that he was not alone.

There was a girl that looked to be maybe a little bit younger than himself wobbly flying up and up before suddenly falling onto the ground again. He had ran out to try and get her but she simply fell too fast. He reached her and held a hand out to help her up. "Hey are you alright?" Half actually concerned for her and wanting to help and half just wanting her to either fly or get out of the way of his flying. But he asked softly and with a look of concern.

Cassandra felt tears come to her eyes as she tried to hold in a cry. She hated getting hurt and feeling pain. That was one of the many reasons why she was a nervous wreck and always worried. She just wanted the pain to go away and to never go flying again. She never wanted to be brave if it meant getting hurt. She grabbed the boy's hand with her good hand. "N-never again." She said more to herself than the boy. "I-it hurts." She let tears slip down her face and tried to wipe them with her bad arm. Huge mistake. She yelped in pain and put her arm back in its position close to her stomach.

She wondered why the boy was there butit was obvious he was there to fly. She was happy forvhis kindness and for his help. "Thank you." She gave him a small smile but it changed into a look of pain. "I-I really don't l-like flying." She just wanted to go to her dorm and sleep till she was feeling better. But she knew she couldn't.

Christian pulled the younger looking girl up from the ground easily, thankfully she wasn't very heavy. He brought her to her feet but noticed that she was holding her arm close to her body which probably meant it was injured pretty seriously unless she was just being a baby about it which he didn't think was the case. "Can I see your arm?" He asked kindly holding his hand out to her. He wasn't an expert or anything but he had been flying with his cousins enough when one of them fell to know what a broken arm looked like. He wasn't sure why he was being so nice to this stranger but he wrote it off as he was simply trying to shoo her off faster.

A smirked played at the edges of his mouth when she really doesn't like flying. "Oh don't be like that now. Flying is the best thing in the world, once you know how to do it properly. Maybe you just need a proper teacher, cause ya know Professor Bowen can't teach everyone at the same time." He told her simply. Not sure why he was offering this random girl his help like this.

Cassandra wasn't sure if she trusted this boy but she was in a lot of pain and maybe he could help her. He seemed like he meant no harm and only wanted to help. She just wanted the pain to go away and never to fly again. "Um....I-I think it might be broken. It hurts really badly." She had never experienced pain like this but then again she had never done anything dangerous to feel pain. It was kind of like a...thrill. She slowly moved her arm toward him, her face scrunched up from pain. Maybe she was just overreacting, she wasn't sure. "I think this is the first time I've ever actually felt pain like this."

She wasn't sure if he was offering his help to teach her, but she didn't want to take it. "I don't think I want to ever fly again, even if I was taught properly. Flying isn't my thing and I don't think it will be. If you're offering to teach me, no thanks. But thanks for the offer anyways." If she was to try to fly again, it wasn't going to be till a long time. Falling from that height had scared her and she never wanted to be that high up again.

The girl slowly moved her arm out towards him but she was moving so slowly as if she was afraid he was going to snap her arm. He reached out the rest of the way and pulled her arm towards him a bit faster. He carefully moved his hand up her arm applying slight pressure every few inches. The moment she winced he would know where the breakage was and he could also feel it when he came to it. "Well its definitely broken. Hey I bet I could fix that for ya." He said with a mischievous smile before pulling out his wand still holding the girls arm in his hand.

As soon as the girl said she was probably never going to fly again even if she was taught properly he quickly withdrew his offer. It wasn't like he had really want to teach the whiny girl anyways he was just trying to be nice. "Of course I wasn't offering to teach but there are many okay quidditch players around the school that I'm sure would help you. Of course I suppose you would have to not be a whining scaredy cat about it for someone to teach you." He answered simply not sure why anyone would not want to learn to fly that was just insane.

Cassandra pulled her arm back from the boy and held it close to her again. No way was she going to let a jerk like him say such things to her. She was used to being called names because of her personality and being afraid of about anything. "Well, I thought you were nice but now I guess I was wrong." She was happy no one had been around to hear his rude comment, it saved her from being embarrassed. But that didn't make up for her hurt feelings. "Ypu don't have to be so mean..." She barely whispered so it wasn't likely that he had heard her. She just wanted to get away from him and stupid flying. "I wouldn't have wanted you to teach me anyways. And I'm pretty sure that's not how you treat a lady." Even though she was still in pain, she ignored it. She wanted to tell him off, which was very unlike her. She was usually very nice even to those who were mean to her. But not this time. She wasn't going to be called names after she about killed herself.

This strange girl pulled her arm back at his comments about her, he figured that would also mean she wasn't going to let him try his hand at magical bone mending. He didn't put his wand away quite yet though for now he was getting a bit fired up. After his mother died and he was forced to live with his father-like thing he found a hidden anger inside himself. This girl who he was trying to help, which she was lucky he was even doing in the first place, and she had the audacity to tell him that he wasn't nice and that she wouldn't even want him to teach her anyways. This was one of the only times he was nice to a complete stranger and she said he wasn't, that sure would teach him not to even try anymore.

"I'm glad to hear you feel that way, now I know for future reference that there isn't even a point to try and be nice to you people." He told her simply with a smug look. He chuckled shortly at her next words. "Oh there is a lady around here? Where is she?" He asked coolly looking around as if in search of someone. "Why don't you run along to the infirmary then and let the big kids fly?" He finished before putting his wand away and picking his broom off the ground.

Cassandra had about had it with him, she wasn't one to get angry, but she couldn't help herself. "You were trying to be nice? You were at first, but then you called me a scaredy cat. That's being mean if you didn't know." She tried to hide her hurt look at his comment about not seeing a lady, but she failed. She didn't care if he saw her hurt expression. "Why thank you." She eyed his wand before her put it away then shook her head. "Why do ypu think you can just say hurtful words and expect people not to get upset? Just because I don't want to fly doesn't mean I'm scared. I could have died and I don't wanna go flying anytime soon. You sir have no right to be mean." He had been trying to help her after all, but she didn't want to stay there much longer. "Thanks for your help anyways, sir." She ignored his last comment about letting the big kids fly. "Good luck flying. Break a leg. And congrats on winning the Quidditch match. You are in my house after all so a congrats was in order."
