Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round III

Post by Professor Bowen on Thu Jun 27, 2013 5:56 pm

This year had brought with it a number of exciting moments in the world of Quidditch for Professor Bowen, who loved the sport and her profession with a passion that she had always tried her best to portray in her work. She was almost sad to see the year come to an end, but like all good things, the end was inevitable. "I want to start off by saying how proud I am of all of you," Professor Bowen started her usual pre-game talk. "For Cerisier team, who has two wins and consequently will be winning the Quidditch cup this year, I am immensely proud of the effort that you had put forth to achieve that." She smiled to the team of green. "I think you have your new captain to thank for that, Mr. D'Angelo. Leadership is a big responsibility and you had handled it well." She extended a hand to the Cerisier's team captain and shook it firmly. "But let's not forget about Montagnard's valiant efforts! They have played valiantly all season and expect them to continue to do so with this game as well." She looked towards the Mountains. Even though there was no chance of them winning the cup now, that didn't mean they were able to slack off with this last game.

"Now the weather is lovely today. We've got clear skies and spring weather in store for us, but as usual, weather shouldn't have any effect on your playing. Please try to forget about any upcoming exams or summer holiday plans you have in store for the moment to give this last game your all, okay?" Bowen finished, and then signaled for the teams to head out. She stopped Linette for a moment though. "Ms. Puchard, please be lively out there today, alright?" She sighed. "If you must, you can say what you will about the teams if it means you won't speak in monotone." With that, she mounted her broom and headed off to the skies with the quaffle beneath her arm.

"Ready? Three, two, one, GO!"

Linette was very pleased at how well her house was doing and she was sure Professor Bowen must have been happy with her very unbiased commentary last match. Personally though Linette thought it was very dull. Had the players got her message? Even if they hadn't, Professor Bowen must have done and Linette hadn't even been aiming her message at her. Well not much aimed at her. Linette hoped it hadn't. She liked the professor and would hate it if she thought Linette had been cheeky.

The permission to be lively was something Linette was going to take and run with. "Yes Professor Bowen," she replied with a bright smile. "I'll be sure to have no monotone at all to put the players to sleep." She looked gleefully at the players. Full permission to even be biased toward Cerisier. This was truly more wonderful than anything else that'd happened since she was chosen as announcer. Maybe her luck was changing and she was no longer unlucky. At least not this year. Next year with her sister there it was going to be a different matter.

She took her place behind the enchanted microphone. Now was the time to begin her talking and commentary. "Hello everyone and welcome to Round III of Quidditch between Cerisier and Montagnard. Since you likely all went to sleep last match I'll now tell you that Cerisier won yet again and proved what I said at the beginning of the first round. Cerisier is the stronger team. Captain D'Angelo had shown true leadership. Captain Hollow and his team has a lot of ground to make up if they want to beat Cerisier. There go the signal. Let the game begin."

Re: Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round III

Post by Osmund Hollow on Sun Jun 30, 2013 2:07 pm

Not even the warm weather and the promise for the school year to be nearly over could bring a smile to Osmund's face. His team had already lost twice and even winning now couldn't save them from losing the cup. This was utterly disgraceful and though it was most likely his fault, he was still going to blame the other members of his team anyway.

He nearly sneered at Christian as he was to shake the other captain's hand, the act being perhaps uncalled for as Chris and him usually got along. Turning back to his team, he wore a stern look and begrudgingly said, "We must win this round. I don't care that we already lost the cup! I cannot end this school year knowing that Montagnard lost all of the games!" Win it for him. That was basically what he was saying. Maybe if he were kinder to his team, it would have been a better incentive, but that was all that Osmund had.

He took to the sky with a scowl on his face as he replayed last game in his head. It was making him irate but he was going to use that as motivation to win. As the quaffle was released, he was unenthused to see that Cerisier was the first to get to it. He swerved around the pitch to find a bludger to beat the ball away with but was unsuccessful to do so in time. Cerisier scored a goal and then another right after it. His jaw dropped. "Bloody Hell! What do you think you are doing!?" He called to his own chasers and then the keeper. This was ludicrous!

Re: Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round III

Post by Guest on Mon Jul 01, 2013 11:42 am

Today was a great day for quidditch and he wasn't just talking about the weather. Today was a great day for quidditch because no matter whether or not Cerisier won this game they would be going to a party in the common room for winning the House Quidditch Cup. However after the last game when his team just barely won but won none the less they have all be pumped up for the next game, the changing rooms were full of more energy than they have been all year. Christian was getting ready in the captains area and entertained himself by picture what the Montagnard changing rooms looked like now, were they all bummed out and mopping around? And thinking about Osmund trying to convince his team to win this game even though it wouldn't win them the cup was amusing. But finally it was time for the game to start.

Christian walked out onto the pitch with his head held high followed by his equally as proud team, they all smiled uncontrollably when the Cerisier members in the stands cheered. Professor Bowen congratulated his team and him for their wins this term and he shook hands with her after she told him how well he had taken up the captain position. He felt as if his heart was going to burst with happiness at this rate. He was quickly brought back to earth though or rather away from earth when the game started. They all kicked off the ground and the quaffle was released.

Quickly one of his chasers got a hold of it and scored a goal and just as quickly as before the other chaser stole the ball back to score another goal. Christian smiled, "Good work you two!" He called out to them. He swiftly flew after the Montangard with the quaffle who threw it towards the goal but sorely missed, so sorely that it looked as if he simply passed it over to Christian who quickly flew it to the other said and it threw it through the center hoop. The Montagnard that took up the quaffle after he threw it was hit with a bludger from a Cerisier beater giving them back the ball to score once more. This looked like it was going to be way to easy today they were going to look like professionals by the end at this rate.

Annaliese looked up at the Quaffles coming towards her and  missed the block, scoring points for Cerisier. Osmund was already yelling at the team. She rolled her eyes and tried to focus. But she couldn't help wondering, maybe it wasn't the team that was bad...maybe it was Oz's attitude....he'd done nothing but yell and criticize the whole year. Grinding her teeth she made a long term goal to be captain next year. She swung around and tried to block the shots, but she was pretty distracted with her thoughts That she missed them.

The seekers where fighting to get the snitch and the beaters were well...beating. The chasers were irritating Anna immensely, she just couldn't keep the shot out of the goals. Oz's whining and complaints weren't helping much either. She sighed and knocked one of the Quaffle out of the way. 'Good.' She thought to herself.

As she triumphantly grinned at her blocked shot, a another set Quaffles came at her. It was overwhelming. Suddenly she felt a streak of pain in her arm and stomach and was zooming towards the ground. Landing on her back she groaned in agonizing pain.

The apocalypse was happening right then and there, Osmund determined. Why else would Montagnard be losing so? In their previous games, Montagnard always scored a fair amount of goals, sometimes even more than what Cerisier was scoring, and they had only lost because of the bloody seeker catching the snitch. They were doing unusually horrible now. "C'mon guys!" Osmund called to his team as he flew past them, sounding irritated. "You are better than this!" That was somewhat encouraging, right? Whatever. It would have to do.

Cerisier had the quaffle again, as it appeared that his fellow chasers were unable to get a good grip on the ball, and scored twice more before Osmund made his way over with a bludger. They were about to score for the third time in the row, which Osmund simply couldn't allow. He had good enough aim to be able to hit the chaser with a bludger, but was distracted by the events happening on the other side of the pitch when he hit the bludger. His head turned to see Montoya fall from the goals and when he looked back towards the mess he was caught up in, he had found that he had managed to hit one of his own players rather than a Cersier. That was two of them down and another goal for Cerisier. Osmund couldn't find the words to express his disappointment for this final round.

Montagnard: 0
Cerisier: 100

Annaliese was quickly rushed off the field and taken to the infirmary. "Ow....my arm....." she groaned as they tried to move her. The game was still going strong, but the Montagnards were being brutally slain by the other team.. once the season was over. Oz would surely give her a hard time about this game...she was a little worried about him. He was falling apart from all the losses. Surely this one would crumple him. She sighed and held her arm in pain. Little did she know, however that Oz was the one who had injured her. As soon as she was off the field she heard the chime of another goal for Cerisier . "Great..." She groaned...from both the goal and the pain.

"Would you look at that," Linette called out over the microphone.  "The game has barely started and already Cerisier is showing their superior skill with the gaining of two goals.  Montagnard has yet to show anything on the board.  Shame on you Captain Hollow. It must be all the booksniffing getting to your head and infecting the rest of your team."  She smirked as she spoke the last of those words.  No doubt there would be some sort of retribution for speaking of his reading habits to the rest of the school but Linette was beyond caring about that. She was having too much fun.

"Look at that.  Captain D'Angelo has scored again for Cerisier.  Now there's a captain to admire.  Look at how well he has his team working together.  Maybe you should stop growling at your team so much Osmund and your team wouldn't make so many mistakes.  And Cerisier has scored yet again.  Forty points to nothing so far."  There was a triumphant sound to her voice as she spoke.

As the scores were mounting up on the side of Cerisier, Linette announced each one with glee.  She was ever so careful to be certain she did not sound like she was speaking with a monotone.  "And the score is now at 70 to 0 to Cerisier.  At this rate it isn't going to ... oh.  It looks like Montoya of Montagnard has been hit by a bludger. That's gotta hurt.  Hollow I know you're upset but hitting your own keeper?  That's not going to do you any good you know?"  The last was in a singsong voice.

Without the keeper in the game it was becoming even more one-sided with the skill.  "Cerisier is still in the lead with 110 to 0. If Montagnard wants to win their seeker had better do something miraculous.  Like maybe catch the snitch."

Cerisier: 110
Montagnard: 0

Christian was only half paying attention to the rest of the game for he was so concerned with him and his chasers scoring as many points as they possibly could before one of the seekers caught the snitch. They were doing an amazing job in his opinion for they were already one hundred and ten points ahead of Montagnard which had scored nothing yet. It wasn't until he was flying back to the hoops to score again that Christian realized that the keeper for Montagnard was not there anymore and after scoring again he listened to Linette and found it was Osmund that knocked his keeper down. He had been about to congratulate one of his beaters but it was even funnier learning that it was the own girls captain.

The game continued much the same until Cerisier's score was all the way up to 170 and Montagnard had finally scored one goal. Christian was so confident in his team he wasn't worried about anything anymore and he was so sure they were going to win. That was until he watched his seeker fall from the sky with a splintered broom, he quickly flew over tried to stop him from falling but all he could do was slow him down so the impact wasn't so hard. That was when his hopes for the game started to die until the Montagnard seeker caught the snitch and the game was over. After all that happened Christian couldn't remember the score so he quickly looked up to see that the score ended up as 170-160 and he breathed a heavy sigh. "Good job everyone!" He congratulated his team when they were all back on the ground.

"Now this is really exciting. Just look at how far ahead Cerisier is of Montagnard. Of course the fact that Montagnard has no keeper available does help. I guess that's the last time Osmund hits a bludger without checking first." In reality Linette found it rather difficult to find it that exciting. Other than the fact her house was winning of course. That was extremely exciting.

She stood and leaned forward. "Look. Montagnard actually managed to score one goal. Cerisier's keeper has done very well to keep any other attempts out that you can hardly blame them for that one goal now can you?" She glanced up at the scoreboard. "Now the scores are at 170 to Cerisier and 10 to Montagnard. Guess who's seeker has missed their opportunity to make sure their team had a chance of winning." Then the Montagnard seeker caught the snitch and Linette yelled, "YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN MY ADVICE EARLIER." The sound echoed more loudly than she'd intended. "Oops. In case you have all missed it Cerisier wins with 170 points to Montagnard's 160. In the end it was a close game but yet again I have had my words confirmed. Cerisier is the superior team." Now it was time for a celebration and Linette made sure her microphone was off before leaving the announcer's box.
