Serah had been living in France again for only a couple of weeks. And one of the best parts about it was that she would get to send her step-sister off to school. She was so looking forward to it and she wondered if the fourth year was going to be a Montagnard like the Palmers. But Garnet was a rare type of girl, so maybe she'd be something completely different.

"So today is the big day!" Serah commented. "How do you feel?"

She could barely remember her first day in Paris. She remembered going alone, though. And she remembered meeting Ruby. But it was nearly ten years ago. It felt like centuries, though. "Do you want some food or something, while we're here?" she asked.

If it were up to Garnet she would still be at the school that she loved instead of starting this new school that she probably wasn't going to like. She was forced into this and it seemed like she had no say in anything anymore. Decisions were made for her without a word from her, no one ever asked what she wanted. But she knew how to get the things she wanted and what to say to get out of trouble. All she had to do was ask her new father and throw in a "daddy" or two. He must think that since she called him her dad that they were progressing but that was only to get what she wanted.

Now her new sister wanted to hang out with her before she went to school. Great. The young girl couldn't help but roll her eyes when she went on about how today was the day she was going to Beauxbatons. As if she actually wanted to go in the first place. Maybe if she didn't say anything, she would stop trying. She couldn't wait to get the fuck out of this place. "Why'd you leave?" she said rudely. She decided to ignore her questions and just ask whatever she wanted instead.

Serah smiled. "Long story," she said. There was a lot that she felt she shouldn't disclose to Garnet. Even though Garnet was the same age Serah was when the whole ordeal happened. She doubted that her sister would really care about the real story anyway. "There was a boy and some things with Dad. The time I spent at Beauxbatons brought about some of the best memories I've ever had," she said. "Don't worry about it too much. You can always go back to your old school, if you absolutely hate it at Beauxbatons. Your mother and my father aren't unfeeling people, you know."

Serah didn't think she was going to get an answer to her first set of questions.

When the waitress came around, Serah ordered Croque-Monsieu and a butterbeer. Serah looked at Garnet. "Do you want something or do you want to wait to eat with friends?" she asked the girl.
