A Song For School Empty A Song For School

"That wasn't too bad," Jonas said to Kat. He and his new friend had decided to shop around together. It prevented them from getting lost and it was more fun that way.

They had walked back to La Petit Dragon to kill some time before they had to get on the carriages. Jonas supposed they'd get a drink or something. He needed to raise his blood sugar a bit. He was getting tired.

He led her to a table and pulled out a chair for her to sit in before going to his own seat. "We have all our supplies. Now what do we do?" he asked.

He thought for a moment. "Let's write a song!" he suggested excitedly.

"You're right! It could've been a lot worse. We could've been abducted, murdered, tortured or mugged in an alley." She sighed. "Though I guess a lot of that is better than hearing me babble all day." She said light-heartedly. The previous instance with Dru had really put the girl out of whack ever since the instance, despite trying to make it humerous. She hadn't seemed quite as cheery, or even as enthusiastic as she had prior to the tak with the affermentioned girl. She didn't cry at too much, so when she did it always meant something was wrong.

However, the girl had made good on getting a cat. The feline was very gentle and friendly, and seemed to make her not so melancholy.

She sat at the table and pet her cat, shrugging. "I don't know. What do people usually do during this time? I'm not really hungry. We could always find some paint and start making this place more colorful." She giggled at the thought. Her eyes sparkled at his idea. She loved to write! "That sounds really fun! What would you like fo write about?!"

Jonas cringed. He didn't want to imagine anything bad happening to them. It wasn't really what he meant by the trip being "not too bad," but Kat was right.

Jonas scratched his arm. Hopefully Kat's new pet kept its distance. He didn't have any serious itching just yet and he didn't want it to start.

"I think we should write a song about going to school!" Jonas answered. He looked around the tavern and spotted a boy sitting by himself. "Hey! Do you want to help us write a song?" he asked loudly with a smile, trying to be friendly and inclusive. Jonas knew that he would want people to invite him if he were sitting alone.

A Song For School Empty Re: A Song For School

Parker was supposed to start school last year but the thought of not having Winnie with him was too much and he ended up chickening out and going to muggle school for another year. Finally, he was ready to go back on his own. Who needed Winnie? She chose to stay home and he wasn't going to let her decision affect him. He was going to be himself and he was going to have a good time. Well, as much as he could, it was a school after all. It wasn't going to be all fun, but he was going to have a fun time picking on the other students. This year, he wanted to go alone and his parents stayed home with Winnie.

As soon as ye walked into the pub, he began to sneeze. It wasn't just once, it was multiple sneezes. He tried pinching his nose closed with his fingers as he looked around for what was making him sneeze. He stopped when he saw a cat and knew that was what was making him sneeze. Both him and Winnie were allergic to the creatures. He pulled the top of his shirt up so it covered his mouth and nose and walked over to the source. "Could you put your cat away? I'm allergic," he grumbled. It wasn't the nicest way to ask, but he was sure he got the point across.

Jonas was briefly worried about what Kat would say to the boy and how she would feel, since she had already had her feelings hurt today. He didn't want her to cry again. But maybe the older girl from earlier's words sink in. Jonas had a feeling that they hadn't.

But then, he remembered the content of the comment. "Hey! I'm allergic to cats, too! That's so weird! Isn't that weird? Are you the sneezing kind of allergic, or the itchy kind of allergic?" Jonas asked excitedly.

"I just stomped all over what you were going to say, didn't I?" he asked Kat. "Sorry." Letting other people get a word in was a challenge for him.

Kat looked at the new boy who came in hopefully, smiling at him in a friendly manner. She wanted to make lots of friends, and so far she hadn't been doing so well. As a matter of fact, it had been going terribly. The only person she hand't gotten yelled at by was Jonas, and she had a feeling that was just because she talked to him and he would talk to anyone. She grateful for this, glad she at least had soemone who would talk to her, but it made her feel even worse.

Then, the boy spoke. And everything about her happy expression deflated.

Kat whimpered and forced herself not to cry. She loved her cat, and she had been given grief over her desire to have a pet twice today. Dru had thought all cats (and people) hated her (or should), and both this new boy and Jonas were allergic. She had been about to introduce herself and ask the new boy's name, but she simply brought herself to nod.

"I-I'm sorry." She said, nodding and heading towards the door. She glanced at Jonas. "No biggie. You didn't mean to, and at least you had good questions! I don't think about other people enough..." At least that's what she'd gotten from Dru and this experience. "It was nice meeting you, Jonas. Maybe you can show me that school somg sometime. H-have fun." She said, then she walked out the door. If she hadn't already gotten her things, she would've left.

What a terrible way to start her new life here.

Kat's reaction was worse than what he had feared. Why did she feel like she had to leave? And what she had said wasn't true. If she thought she was bothering people, that meant she had cared. She wouldn't leave if she didn't care.

Jonas felt like he should chase after her, but he still stayed in his seat. He would get to talk to her soon, like she said. But he also didn't want to miss out on an opportunity to meet this new kid. "So what kind of allergic are you?" Jonas asked, as if Kat hadn't been there at all.

Parker couldn't help but roll his eyes when the girl got up and left. Some people could be so dramatic, he hasn't asked her to leave. But he wasn't complaining when she did. She seemed annoying anyways. If she couldn't handle talking to him then she was not worth his precious time. "I sneeze," he admitted. "My twin does the same thing." He was still kind of angry with her for leaving him but he wasn't going to miss out on this magical school just because of her.

The soon to be first first flagged down a waitress and ordered a butter beer for himself. He didn't think to ask the other boy of he wanted anything. "So, what kind of music do you like?" He raised an eyebrow at the boy. Music was a bog part of Parker's life and he talked about it way too much. If this boy was into crappy music, then he wasn't worth this conversation.

Jonas still felt bad. He wondered if Kat hated him for not following her. He'd find out when he saw her next. But what if that was never again? Or if he saw her and she ignored him. That would be awful. Jonas didn't want to lose a friend so early in his school career. "You have a twin?" he asked, still lacking his normal enthusiasm. "What's his name?Or her name? Sometimes I forget that twins can be one of each. "

"I don't really have a favorite type of music. I listen to different things with different people. My mom listens to these American muggles with weird accents and my sister listens to pop music. My dad listens to classic rock. My brother listens to stuff that isn't really popular and I guess I like that the best," he answered. He knew he was rambling. And was probably boring the other boy.

Parker wasn't the most talkative person and this boy was doing the talking for both of them. Never had anyone ask him so many question in such a short amount of time. His mind wondered as the boy spoke. His thoughts kept coming back to how weird this kid was and how he was so eager to talk to a random stranger. "Yes, I have a twin." He still was a little hurt over Winnie leaving him by himself but he wasn't going to bad mouth her like he would with anyone else. "Her name is Winnie." He was always cracking jokes at her nickname and was glad that he didn't have any nicknames that could be used against him.

Parker's love of music took over his life and he was a fanatic when it came to the subject. He could talk for hours about his favorite bands and his love for playing guitar. "Play anything?"

"Winnie is her name? That's cool! I like it! My sister's name is Angela," he said before tacking on, "not that anyone asked."

Jonas smiled at the other boy's question and was once again overexcited. "Yeah! I play bass guitar. Sometimes I play regular guitar, but I'm not as good at that. Oh! And I played triangle at school. I had a ton of solos!" he joked. He didn't really like orchestra as a class, but all of the other kids were fun. "Do you play anything? Oh! And my name is Jonas, by the way. I'm going to be a first year."
