Term 18 Quidditch Tryouts Empty Term 18 Quidditch Tryouts

Post by Professor Bowen Sat Feb 14, 2015 2:41 pm

It was that time of year again, the beginning of a new year at Beauxbatons meaning it was once again time for quidditch tryouts. This was one of the professor's favorite times to be the flying instructor, however it could also be very stressful to choose students for the teams. However she was always able to decide in the end and she just loved the happy looks on the students faces when they flew around the pitch and you could always see that moment when each one of them finally got some confidence in their tryout performance.

Professor Bowen walked out onto the quidditch pitch to see a group of excited students standing in the center, some scared looking and others confident. She stood in the middle and quickly got everyones attention, "Alright everyone welcome to this year's Quidditch Tryouts." She said loud enough for everyone to hear her. "You will be notified when the tryout results are in." She told them all slowly to be sure they all understood. "So with that, let's get started and yes you may tryout for more than one position." She finished before starting the tryouts.

ooc:
-To tryout post only once for each position you wish to tryout for.
-You are to post strictly in character and write a one shot of your character going through their turn.
-Please pay attention to order when posting, for instance if you are trying out for seeker make sure to note that they had to wait till the end to take their turn.
-Be sure to give enough detail in the post to help the Ministers make an accurate decision about who to pick.
-Look at the Quidditch Team sticky to see what positions are open. There is only one Seeker and one Keeper. If those positions are filled on your team, you cannot tryout for that position.
-Message your house's Minister with any questions

Term 18 Quidditch Tryouts Empty Re: Term 18 Quidditch Tryouts

Julie-Pierre could feel the winds of the day trying to push him back as he waited, patience waning as his grip tightened and released on his broomstick. Moments were passing by, goggles giving him some bit of help from the tint of the glass, much thanks to the sun being bright today with the winds.

To his surprise, his impatience made him almost get bludgeoned by a beater 's aiming of a bludger. Gasping, the boy quickly swerved out of the way just in time to miss the ball. However, he could hear a yelp from one of his players, cringing at the sound as he quickly tried to break his anger-induced impatience.

It was getting so agonising watching his team lose like this. The scores didn't have too many points between them, but it was still sad how his team wasn't faring so well. Where was that forsaken snitch, he couldn't help but think, feeling his blood boiling. He needed to be vigilant, he knew this, but it was so hard when this was something new for him. He hadn't even fully trained for all this.

To his relief, though, he could see the reflection of gold glimmering from the sun, barely noticing the pitter-pattering of its tiny hummingbird-like wings. He could hear people yell that the Golden Snitch was in everyone's eyes, he and his opponent Seeker quickly making their way off to chase and grab it.

Neck and neck they flew, the redhead trying to find a way to boost just a little. Quickly, he brought himself to fly just in front of his foe, seeing the little ball coming just a few feet from his grasp. As he continued to fly, his hand reached out, eyes sticking to the gold. It was then that he notice the ball as swerving up to the sun, the giant light's rays beaming into his goggles

Growling, he continued, going by his instinct as he couldn't dare to lose. He kept going, flying and flying as soon he was away from the wretched blindness. As his eyes adjusted, he could feel little flaps, line consistent flickers he could feel, at his fingertips. Without a second thought, he forced himself forward before grabbing hold.

"Yes!" he muttered to himself, the whole time he had flown earlier him having held his breath. Cheering as he let his excitement out with the growing moments of fame, the German kept hold of the Golden Snitch, its wings slowly ceasing its relentless flapping. It couldn't get away, and now the game was won.
