It seemed like Wolfgang was nearly always hungry. Thus was a side effect of puberty. He laid in bed and tried to get thoughts of the cake they had for dessert that night out of his mind, but he kept tossing and turning as his stomach rumbled. "I wonder if there is any left," He wondered aloud. His roommate was seemingly fast asleep. Suddenly he tossed his blankets off and rose to his feet.

He slipped out of his dorm in his pajamas, knowing it was past curfew, and made his way to the dungeons. It wasn't the first time Wolf had snuck out, so he wasn't anxious about it. He made it to the kitchens alright and smiled as the place was dead. All the house elves must be either sleeping or doing other tasks around the school, so he had nothing to worry about getting caught.

"Cake," He muttered to himself. Of course his food of choice was nearly always something sweet. He wondered where the house elves would keep it, if there was any cake left. He decided to try the walk in freezer. He tugged at the handle and stepped inside, feeling the hair on his arms rise at the chilly environment inside. He hugged himself and watched as with every breath he exhaled, a small cloud of mist was emitted from his mouth. Finally he found what he was looking for. Only about two slices were left of the delectable cake, but the young boy seized the plate and turned to leave the freezer. He intended to eat one and then bring the other back with him to give to Cam. However, he stopped dead in his tracks and nearly dropped both slices when he saw a girl staring right at him. "What are you doing here?" He asked with a tone that intended to mean he was supposed to be there and she was not. He hoped this didn't mean the end of the fun for him.

Aurora had been skipping class so much that she had been given a punishment of helping in the kitchen, however she had left her wand on the kitchen counter after she had helped the elves with their duties. She didn't like having to help them, but she couldn't get into any more trouble here, otherwise her family was going to make her come back to Kentucky and the last thing she wanted was to be on the burial ground of her lost friend.

As the girl entered the kitchen she was greeted with a boy exiting the freezer. She hadn't been up to her house yet, and had been given a note about being late, but the sight of this boy looked as if her was sneaking around. "Just left something here." She said softly and looked down as if she was the one at fault here. She knew she was supposed to report it if this sort of thing happened, but the boy was an opportunity for a friend, and she was really hurting for those at this point. "Um, looks yummy." She said and gave a small smile.

"Oh, what does it look like?" Wolfgang asked, digging a fork into the cake and starting to eat it. It tasted even better now that it was chilled and that he had been craving it. Raspberry and dark chocolate. House elves sure knew how to cook.

"It is," He answered, on his third fork full of cake. "I'm saving the other slice for Cameron, he's my best friend, but if you want, you can have a bite of mine," Wolfgang offered. It was clear that the girl had no intentions of getting him in trouble. She was just another late night traveler in search of an item that she worried if she waited too long wouldn't be there in the morning.

Aurora relaxed as the boy searched around for a fork. It wasn't that he was scary, you just normally didn't see people out this late at night, wandering around this castle. She looked around the kitchen and didn't seen the item she was searching for. "Um, I left my wand in here." She said and continued to search for it, "However..." She continued and started to walk around searching for her lost wand.

As she searched she listened to the boy explain the reason that he was down there. He was getting cake. That was evident, but she found it sweet that he was A) bring some to his best friend and B) offering her some of his. She admired his friendship. Yeah, it was just a small act of kindness, but it made her smile. "Um, maybe.." She said and shrugged a bit. "I'm Aurora, by the way." She smiled at him. "Rory for short."

"Oh, I haven't seen a wand yet, but I'll let you know if I find it," Wolfgang promised. There was no harm in lending a hand to the poor girl. After all, losing a wand was a big deal. He would know, since he occasionally misplaced his every now and then. He could be pretty absent-minded sometimes.

Despite the girl not jumping at his offer, Wolfgang went back towards where he found his fork and pulled another one out of the silverware drawer for the older girl. He returned towards where she was standing and held it out for her to take as she introduced herself. "My name is Wolfie," He greeted, baring his snaggletooth smile. "Try the cake! It's really good!"

"I'll take the right side?" She asked with a tilt of her head. She wasn't gonna force the boy to help her, but he seemed to be willing to help her. She had never lost it before and was usually more responsible about those types of things, but she'd been so distracted as of late that it was hard to remember simple things. She was beginning to believe that she was loosing her mental state of mind.

However, the boy brought her back from her thoughts when he offered her the cake, she decided to give in. Aurora smiled and took the fork. "Nice to meet you Wolfie." She flipped the fork and dug into the cake, taking a small bite away and lifted the fork to her lips. She put the sweet pastry into her mouth and made a small. 'Mmm' sound. "It's delicious." She she said and chewed.

Wolfgang assumed since he was already there, he ought to offer his eyes in service of finding a lost wand. He wasn't too determined to help, but if by chance he had happened upon a wand without an owner, it only made sense to offer it back to the girl he had just met. Which was why he looked slightly confused when the girl claimed the right side of the kitchen, for it seemed unusually formal and Wolfgang liked disorder and lack of plans. However, he said not a word about it.

Eventually he had convinced the girl whom he learned to be called Aurora to accept the fork and sample his cake. "Right?" he said in response to Aurora's sounds of approval. "House elves make the best food and I always look forward to dessert time at every meal," Wolfgang chimed, taking a much larger hunk than what Rory had torn off of the cake and shoving it into his mouth. The rich chocolate-raspberry flavor melted so beautifully in his mouth he felt he might actually start drooling.

He placed the half eaten cake down and the slice reserved for Cameron on a table as he moved to the other side of the kitchen in search of more sweets or a wand. "How did you end up losing your wand down here?" He called as he opened up cupboards and peering inside them. "Maybe the house elves found it already and are keeping it safe. You could try coming back when they're not away to ask. Unless, of course, are you afraid of them?" Wolfgang entertained. "There's no reason to be. They're awfully nice creatures. They only ever want to help."

Aurora usually wasn't super organized, she had just figure that picking a side and search her side thoroughly would make it faster. She headed to her side of the kitchen and looked around. She didn't know where she'd left the darn thing, but feared that Wolfie was right. Perhaps she had left it and the house elves had taken it with them for safe keeping until she returned the next day to finish out her punishment.

"No, I'm not afraid of them." She said and looked up at the boy, "I was in the kitchens tonight helping them out." She explained. "It was part of my punishment, though I might volunteer in the future. It was quite fun, we got to make a few sweet dishes, and the conversations were nice. You should consider it." She suggested to the poofy haired boy with a smile.

He found an assortment of kitchen utensils that he couldn't even begin to imagine what they did, but found not one wand. "Oh?" He uttered in response to the girl's words. "Punishment? You got into trouble?" He was overly interested now. Not only was he talking to an older student, but a trouble maker! "What did you do? What it a prank?" He asked. Wolf loved pranks. Him and Cameron were the best at pranks.

She must've really enjoyed her detention, for she said she wouldn't mind volunteering to do the same work in her free time. She invited him to join too, which Wolfgang chuckled at. "The only use I can offer is taste tester. I'm only really good at eating food, not making it," Wolfgang replied.

Aurora giggled a little bit that the sudden interest of the boy when she told him that she'd been in the kitchen due to punishment. "No.." She laughed slightly. "I've don't think I've ever pulled a prank." She said and slightly regretted not thinking of trying something like that. "No...I skipped class." She explained. "I've just need some alone time as of late, ans classes just seemed pointless." She shrugged. I need to start attending again soon, otherwise I'm going to be kicked out of school." She said with a slight worry in her tone. She'd worked so hard to get into the school initially, and she knew it was stupid to waste all of that hard-work because she was a little sad still.

She smiled at his comment about being a taste tester. "Yeah, well you get to do that too." She said with another small giggle. "But yeah, it was a lot of fun." She smiled and shrugged. "Who knew that detention could be fun." She grinned. "Any luck with the wand?"

Wolfgang's jaw dropped as Rory claimed she never played a prank before. "How?" He asked in awe. He did pranks sometimes without even thinking. Sure, they were a lot less elaborate, but they were fun. "I understand. Classes are pretty boring. But I try to make it entertaining for myself," Wolfgang relayed, not exactly understanding what Rory meant, but he meant well.

"If it involves eating, then it definitely sounds like fun," Wolfgang chimed, thumbing through bags of sugar and flour and salt. "The only wand I've found is me own!" Wolfgang relayed, tapping his pocket where he stored his own wand only to find it unusually flat. "Oh!" His eyes dropped to the floor where not more than three feet from his was his wand. He quickly snatched it up, laughed and re-pocketed it. "Tricky little guy. Sorry!"

The first year kind of confused Rory in a weird way, but she liked it. He was kind and made her giggle, which was something she hadn't done in quite sometime. When he talk about not liking class much, it surprise Rory that he didn't understand what she'd been speaking of. After-all, she'd only spoken to 2 people about Penny's death. It was hard to cope with, but she was thankful for the supportive people around her.

She shook her head when he inquired about the prank. "Nope, guess I never thought about it before." She shrugged. "Are they fun?" She asked politely and smiled curiously. Not have pulled one, she found herself wondering about the contents of one and the steps you had to take to pull it off. She remembered the woman at the gag shop recommending pranks to her. Maybe she'd give it a try.
