Picnic for Two Empty Picnic for Two

Indigo had been dating her girlfriend for a while now and her mother was just now coming around to the idea. Last year she had gotten a letter from her mother stating she didn't know how to deal with her dating another female. When she had come home for the summer holiday, things were quiet between everyone. No one really knew what to say to each other or what to do. Most of the summer, Indigo either worked in the garden or spent time painting by herself or with her father. Her father still treated her the way he always had and even asked her how things were going for her and Cori. She told him all about how she was an announcer and how she was having fun doing that and she also talked a bit about Cori. She wasn't ashamed that she was dating her best friend, she just thought it wasn't something to go into detail about with your dad.

They hadn't really gone on a date beside the meeting up the day they began to date. So, they agreed that they would go out again. But recently Indigo had fallen ill and didn't want to go to the infirmary, she hardly trusted anyone besides her family and friends, and was still recovering. So instead of going out to the Village, they took their date to the lake and set up a small picnic for two.

Cori was so nervous about her date with Indigo. She didn't want her girl...friend(?) to find her unappealing. Did she need to lose weight? Hmm. Nervously, Cori picked out a pair of leggings and a jumper that she may or may not have 'borrowed' from Indigo. She did her makeup carefully and when she was confident she looked presentable she grabbed a basket of food from the kitchen and headed out to Indigo. Cori grinned and blushed when she saw the girl waiting. Cori gave her a kiss to the top of the head and sat across from her. "Ready for an amazing picnic, Indigo?" Cori couldn't help but smile from cheek to cheek, she just liked Indigo so much.

Indigo hadn't dressed up much for the date, she wore a pair of old jeans and one of her favorite shirts, a t-shirt with a kitten on the front. It was a bit childish but she still liked it. "Hey," she croaked out with a small smile. She wished she wasn't sicl, but at least she wasn't as bad as she was. She blushed a bit at the kiss and grinned more.

"Yeah." She was sure they would have fun no matter what. Even if she was sick or it were raining or snowing, they'd still have fun. "So, how have you been?" The teen was kind of upset that she didn't spend a lot of time with Cori because of announcing, school work, and homework.
