Talking Over Coffee Empty Talking Over Coffee

She missed Marceline and spending time with her. She was in school and that made it very difficult to see each other. Letters were exchanged back and forth but Rubh was beginning to miss the sound of her girlfriend's voice. She made plans to hang out with her friend Tamara at the bakery today and while she waited she began to write a letter to Marcy. She wrote about her job and how some guy had gotten a little too friendly with her so had gave him a black eye. Marcy would have been proud to see her and maybe would have gotten a punch in herself. Her hand writtimg was getting sloppier as she carried on and on. She finished by writing something about seeing each other soon. She signed her name just as Tamara walked in. She stuffed the letter into her purse and grinned at her friend.

She already had a cup of coffee that she had been sipping on. Under her eyes had gotten darker since she had began working but she didn't mind too much. She took a sip before smiling at her friend. "And how are you on this lovely day?" She was lucky to have a day off. She had been working her butt off to get a proper apartment so when Marcy graduated they could live together. They hadn't talked about it but she was sure that she would want to move in with her.

Flat life with Grace was pretty amazing. They didn’t argue ever and if they did it was over who had to do dishes or something silly of that nature (and something that ended in kissing). Grace was bogged down with work and Tamara’s busiest part of the year with her new job had slowed down a bit. So, she was rather excited when Ruby made plans with her. She was running a tad late and hurried into the bakery. Tamara grinned and waved to her friend, then made her way over to Ruby.

She sat down across from her, having ordered her coffee on her way over. Tamara noticed that Ruby looked a bit more tired than usual and had rather dark circles under her eyes. “I’m doing quite well. And how are you? Everything going well?” She asked with a smile then took a sip of her coffee.

She was happy to see Tamara, it had been some time since they had spoken. Now it was time to catch up over coffee and maybe some cookies. "I'm fine, work as been tiring. But other than that I'm fine." Besides missing her girlfriend. She wished that Marcy would walk right through the doors at that very moment. But she was in school and was probably missing her just as much as she was missing her. "I miss Marcy," she said softly. "She's still in school." She had recently went on a double date with her, Malachi, and Rosalie. She was beginning to not like Rosalie very much, she was a bit annoying. But since she was the friendly person that she was, she would never say those things out loud. She knew that Marcy and her didn't get along and she would take Marcy's side in a heartbeat, even if Kai didn't quite agree with her.

"How is the adult life treating you? Anything special happen?" She grinned. She hoped things were going well for her and that she was having a grand time as an adult.

Tamara nodded as Ruby spoke about her own girlfriend. “And how is Marcy doing? Does she miss you a lot too?” She honestly couldn’t imagine a situation like that for her and Grace. The two of them absolutely hate being separated because of work, but have a year of school difference would be horribly unbearable.

“Adult life has been interesting and fun. The most interesting thing right now is Grace and I moving in together. But we decided that last year at school.” Tamara sighed happily. “Things are going really well too. I started working at Monsieur Nightingale’s as a shop hand. That was horrible during the beginning of the school year. So many students. Though I’m sure you understand that too working at Little Horse Diner.” It had been awful with the sea of students coming in for measurements and robes. “Oh! Speaking of mine and Grace’s flat, we’ll have to have you over at some point.” She smiled happily.
