Dorm #2: Tropical Storm Phobia

Post by Guest on Fri Oct 17, 2014 11:59 pm

If you told a meteorologist there was a tropical storm deep into mainland France they wouldn't believe it, and for the most part they would be right. Still, growing up in a tropical storm hot zone made Santiago anxious about storms. Like right now, the sky was pounding with thunder and rain. Santiago felt uncomfortable and knocked on GiGi's door. They'd cuddled a couple times and he felt like this was a great time to cuddle. He hoped she wasn't busy. If she was he'd feel so positively guilty. "GiGi!" He called to the door gently. "Is it okay if I come in?"

The weather didn’t make Gi Eun jumpy at all. She was curled up in her bed. Weirdly enough this weather was perfect for sleeping. She just liked the sound of rain hitting against the castle. Gi sat up at the sound of her name and scrambled out of bed to open the door. She smiled at the sight of her friend. “I suppose you can come in.” She teased, ushering Santi into her room. “You look a little tense? Is everything okay?” She asked worriedly. Gi Eun led him over to her to her bed. She sat down and patted the spot beside her.

"I don't like storms." Santiago laid down beside her and snuggled up against her. Gi Eun St. Holmes was Santiago's best friend in the whole wide world and he didn't think anyone was more important than her. She was funny and deceptively smart. She was just wonderful to be around. She made the world balanced. The sun shined around Gi Eun. Well, really Gi Eun shined around the sun and made it brighter. Santiago was kind of in awe of this girl. She was just so spectacular and unique that he couldn't help but be impressed. Santiago eagerly burrowed closer to her.

Gi Eun nodded and squeezed his shoulder gently, then hugged him. “Well, you can stay in my room with me until the storm passes, okay?” She smiled softly at him. Her cheeks reddened when he borrowed closer. But, it made her happy that Santi was so close to her. She was just lucky to have such a good best friend and if she knew all the nice things that Santi thought about her, Gi Eun would become a tomato. A loud crack of thunder sounded. She hurried to close her window then curled back up with her friend. Gi hummed softly to distract Santi from the rain.

Santiago burrowed closer to her with each crack of thunder and eventually he was as intertwined with her as he could get, nearly absorbing each other. He felt like a total scaredy cat but Gi was helping him which was really important because Santiago thought his roommate was a tool bag. His music was always so obnoxiously loud and insufferable when Santiago was trying to sleep let alone when he was trying to do anything else. He wished GiGi was his roommate honestly because of how close the two were and how he knew she'd respect his rights to equally enjoy the dorm.

Gi Eun hugged her friend tightly. She thought it was sweet that he was comfortable enough with her and their friendship to show her what scares him. Her words were quiet and soothing. She chit chatted about anything that came to mind really. Her family, classes, etc. Gi wished that girls could room with boys. She and Santi would have so much fun together. It’d be a sleepover everyday! She grinned just thinking about that. She didn’t mind her roommate really. They didn’t speak much to each other…because of a really bad language barrier, but that happens. Gi looked over Santi's shoulder. "I think the rain is calming down."

Santi was the luckiest person in the world. He kept saying that and it’s probably overkill at this point, but it’s true. He was so incredibly lucky to have GiGi by his side. Another crack of thunder had him pressing his face into her shoulder. However, her idle chit chat was nice and calming. Her family was certainly interesting to say the least. He could’ve cared less about the classes talk, but he knew Gi Eun was doing this to distract him was all. He lifted his head. It certainly sounded like the rain had stopped. Santi sighed in relief and sat up. "Thanks, GiGi."

Gi Eun would argue that she was the lucky one, but that argument was pretty pointless because neither would win and it’d end in a standstill. She hugged her best friend tighter when the thunder didn’t let up. She patted his back gently. “It’ll be okay.” Gi murmured softly and somewhat sleepily. She looked at him when he shifted. He sat up and she just curled up with her blankets. “Of course.” She smiled softly. “What are friends for if they won’t stay up when one of them needs the other? I know you’d do the same for me.”

"Whenever you would need me to." Santiago smiled down at her and found himself laying back beside her. "You comfy?" He ran a hand through her hair and smiled. Santiago had nothing to complain about with a girl like Gi hanging out with him. She was literally so kind and perfect and smart and he wasn't sure what he'd do without her as his friend. She for sure made him a better person even when it turned out that while he was okay at it he actually didn't like it that much. He preferred speculating and guessing which pro player goes where during trades and stuff like that. He went back to cuddling up with Gi. "GiGi? Can I stay here a little longer? I'm really comfy."
