Boulevard of Broken Dreams Empty Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Osmund had time on his hands, with which he had little inspiration for what to do with it. He was usually preoccupied with work and when he wasn't, he was with the band. However recent events lead to new tensions and Osmund found himself spending less of his free time with his bandmates. He needed a break, but all he knew for the three years he had been on his own was work and drugs and losing track of time and place and falling asleep in multiple odd places of dubious cleanse. It almost felt weird walking down the street which he had wandered many times as a student, like that street belonged to an entirely different Osmund, yet he somehow possessed all that Osmund's memories. He felt like a stranger within his own body as he meandered down it with no sense of direction.

His feet paused at a shop and, looking up to read the sign, an estranged smile tugged at his lips. Quidditch. He remembered those days when he used to play Quidditch. He was quite good too, if he recalled correctly. Quidditch captain. He grimaced at the memory and entered the shop, his eyes landing on the most recent model of broom. Merlin knew he couldn't afford even a twig on the broom, yet he caved in to his temptation to run his hand along the smooth hilt of it. He missed his broom which he had pawned years ago for something he couldn't even remember now. Maybe rent, though he had a self-loathing hunch it was for drugs.

A voice suddenly reached towards him and Osmund jumped, coming back from the prison which was his own thoughts. It took him a moment to realize it was just a shophand and that perhaps he sparked their attention because his hand was on a very expensive broom. "I was just looking," Osmund explained, retreating his hand back to his side. He didn't even know why he had done that in the first place.

Payton liked working at the quidditch shop, but it was so different from playing the actual sport. He missed the action and he missed the feeling of catching the snitch. There was nothing more that he wanted to do, but before he join a team he needed to practice some more. It was a bit slow around the shop so he found himself flipping through a quidditch magazine. Once he had enough money, he'd buy a great broom and try out for a team.

He looked up when someone entered the shop. He remembered the face, but the hair was different. He could never forget his old captain but he wasn't sure he would remember him. "Osmund?" He walked over to the older guy. "I didn't think you were going to take it or anything." There was something different about him, maybe it was just him being an adult now. "Remember me? I was Montagnard's seeker?"

Though the shop hand changed little physically since Osmund had last seen him, it took the red haired man a moment before he recognized him. What hinted him was the fact that he was greeted by name but he didn't hazard a guess at the shop hands name before he told him he had been Montagard's seeker.

"Payton?" He replied, a little bit unsure. He memory was a bit fuzzy sometimes now; a mere side effect of the pills he had popped. He turned back to the broom. "Well I wasn't going to buy it either," he remarked, with a bitter sort of humor. If that man knew what was good for him, he wouldn't dare mention the fact that his father was loaded and that the school boy Oz he was famous for being received any and every material pleasure he wanted. Not anymore, though. His father wouldn't lend him a Knut, let alone pay for a new broom. He was dead to that man, as far as Oz could tell. "I guess I was just day dreaming, as dumb as that sounds. I miss quidditch," Osmund admitted, though he didn't care to get into detail. He never imagined seeing one of his fellow players here, but he assumed they were all going to be graduated soon enough and he'd be seeing more of them.
