Reunited At Last

Daniel missed only one person close to as much as Heather (if not a little more), and that was his other best friend Melody. Daniel had only gotten to know her for a year before he left, and that bothered him to no end. He wanted to be reunited with her so badly. Daniel needed to see her before Heather partially because he had no idea what to say to Heather yet, and partially because he wanted to be able to see Melody first. Honestly, running into Melody in the end had been an accident though.

Daniel was trying on a robe when he saw a head of red hair he would recognize anywhere. Melody. Quickly he removed the set of robes he was wearing and tore after the girl. Eileen blinked in confusion, but nodded understandingly when she saw Daniel arrive at a girl. “Melody.” He murmured, with a grin as he turned her around by the shoulder. “It’s me, Daniel.” What if she didn’t remember him? Oh god, he’d be so upset. “I missed you so much.” He laughed softly and smiled widely. He couldn’t believe it. One half of his two girls was actually here with him.

Melody was searching for the perfect robe. She wanted something that was going to be: A) Comfortable, and, B) Eco-friendly, but this proved to be a challenge as the robe shop sold certain types. Scouring the racks she suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder. Jumping, she turned around and saw a boy with cute circle glasses and a sweet smile. "Melody." He said and she raised an eyebrow at the boy, but the longer she stared at him, the more she started to recognize him.

When he finally announced his name, she hugged him tightly. "Daniel!" She exclaimed, holding him in a tight hug. "Oh I've missed you so much!" She pulled away and looked at him. "You look so old!" She teased and giggled. "Wait! Are you going to Beauxbatons?" She suddenly asked when she saw traces of similar items she was searching for in his bags. "I'm so glad you're here. Heather said you might be!" She smiled. "I can't believe it. We're all back together again." She couldn't believe it. She was reunited with her best mates again.

Daniel grinned when she hugged him tightly. Melody remembered him and she didn’t hate him at all for being adopted and for not staying in touch. “I’ve missed you too, Mel, so much.” He laughed and shook his head. “Old? Mel, we’re only eleven. It’s been two years since we’ve seen each other… though I guess a lot can change in to two years.” He bit his lip. “Yes, yes I’m going to Beauxbatons. I’m guess you are too?” Daniel grinned at her. He was like a puppy who got excited at the mention of squirrels, except his squirrel was Heather. “Heather?” He quickly looked around. “She’s for certain here? Is she here with you?” Daniel couldn’t see her, she was also very small and short he was doubtful that had changed in three years. “I’m glad we’re back together again.” He smiled gently.

Melody laughed a little and smiled at him. He was really sweet and he missed her. "I know." She shook her head. "I was joking." She teased. "Yeah..but you haven't changed much, have you?" She watched as his eye lite up when she mentioned Heather. "No, not with me. We talked for a while at the pub." She spoke softly. "And then she went off shopping. We're supposed to meet up later." She shrugged. "God. It's amazing to see you." She said getting off the topic of Heather. "Tell me about your family." She inquired and moved her long red hair. "I mean we haven't seen each other in 2 years....we should catch up,yeah?

She looked down and then back up at him. She was happy about seeing him again. After she'd been seperated from her friends, she had thought she'd never see them again and that she would be stuck with her siblings for the rest her life. Not that she didn't love them,she just missed the only friends that she had grown up with. Being tossed family to family left scars of not being good enough and abandonment on her.

Daniel smiled back at her. It was exciting to see an old friend again. He was even more determined to find Heather, maybe he wouldn’t talk to her. She probably wouldn’t want to talk to him… He sighed slightly. “Nah, I don’t think so… I think I got a bit taller?” Daniel laughed. “You haven’t changed much either, have you?” He asked, tilting his head. Nodding slowly, he comprehended what she said about Heather. “Oh, okay.” He hoped he didn’t sound disappointed. He was equally as happy about seeing Melody as he would be about Heather.

“My family? It’s just Eileen and Bryce and I… er I’m so bad about calling them mum and dad sometimes.” He chuckled softly. “I love them though. They’re greatest people ever and so nice. Kind of embarrassing though…” He laughed. Daniel was so lucky to have been adopted by the Eaton’s. They loved him and spoiled him every once in a while. “What about your family?”

"My family?" She asked to his reply. "Well, I mean..my parents names are Marigold and Oliver." She shrugged. "They're sweet and very loving." She smiled small. "Y'know...it's just sometimes hard to love them because of past events..." Her voice faded off. "But...I am a older sister. To three." she shook her head and laughed a little bit. "They're a handful, First there's me." She smiled and stood proudly. "Then there's Bo, which is short for  Beauregard. He's the newest member of our family." She trickled on. "The weird thing is that they have adopted us all from different countries. I mean, I'm originally from Sweden, and Bo is from Palestine. Then there's Gi Eun, she's awesome! I love having a little sister, Mum and Da adopted her fro Seoul, Korea. And then there's Moussa, but I call him Mo. He's from West Africa. He's very smart and super saucy." She laughed a little. "So yeah...big family."

Daniel nodded, listening to her talk about her family. “It sounds so lively and nice.” He smiled gently. Daniel wondered if his parents would ever adopt again. He kind of wanted a sibling. “Well, I’d say that’s a big family.” He smiled gently. “Do you like your family?”

“What have you been up to since I last saw you?” Daniel asked politely. He really hadn’t done much but take up guitar lessons and read even more books. So. Many. Books. Other than that it wasn't much. Though his parents took him travelling to all sorts of places which was so cool. The Eaton's weren't filthy rich, but they also weren't struggling either.

Melody sighed a bit and looked down. "Well, I'm into making charms, by widdling and I'm vegetarian." She said and shrugged. "Just simple things..." She smiled. "I've learned how to milk a goat." She chuckled a little. "My family is crazy, but I love them. I love having someone finally accept me." She admitted. Daniel knew about her past families. How they had all just gave her up again when things got tough. She was happy with the St. Holmes family. They weren't rich, but they showed your that money wasn't the world and that no matter how misunderstood you might seem, that things could always be righted with a little love and a little hot chocolate. "How about yours?" She asked. "Your family I mean."

Daniel gave Melody’s hand a gently squeeze. He remembered what she had said about the other families and how they hadn’t accepted her. “I’m glad you found a good family. You deserve people who love you truly and will take care of you.” He smiled gently at her. “You milked a goat? Now that I have to see.” He chuckled softly.

“My family? It’s just my parents and I. They’re really nice. Eileen’s a stay at home/tutor. She goes and teaches wizarding kids history and stuff like before schools. She adores children.” He said fondly of his mother. “My father, Bryce, works in the British Ministry of Magic. He works in some department about international magic or something.” He shrugged. Daniel wasn’t really sure he knew what his dad did for a living.

Melody smiled a little. She had truly missed Daniel. She started laughing at his reaction when he asked about the goat. "Yeah, her name Swanly." She chuckled. "She's super sweet and goat milk with honey is to die for." She shrugged. "Wow!" She said surprised when he told her what his parents did for a living. "That's amazing. Your family sounds fantastic! DO you have any pets?" She questioned him. "I wonder what that must be like..." She sighed fantasizing. "I wonder how Heathers is..." She sighed again and looked down. "Gosh, it's really great to see you."

Daniel chuckled slightly and smiled at her, listening as she spoke. He hadn’t realized how much he had missed both Heather and Melody until he had been reunited with one of them. “That sounds really nice.” He smiled at her. Daniel didn’t think it was too out of the ordinary to tell her what his parents did for a living. “They are fantastic. I’m really lucky to have them.” He smiled fondly, glancing back over to the Eaton’s. “I don’t have any pets, not yet at least. We have a family owl, but most people do. I’m hoping to get a pet today, actually.” He smiled at her, then perked up at the mention of the blonde. “Heather? I’m hoping she’s doing well and that she too got adopted and has a family who loves her. What’s not to like about her?” He probably could’ve gone on a whole schpeel about how wonderful Heather was, but refrained. “It’s great to see you too.” He smiled and gave Melody another hug.

Melody looked at Daniel and smiled. He was strikingly sweet and always had something nice to say to her. She had truly missed him. His soft eyes when he looked at her, his charming lips when they curled into a smile. Looking down at the ground as he hugged her she blushed slightly and hugged him tightly back. "So how about those robes?" She smiled. "Have you decided one that you like...? She questioned and leaned against the wall of the shop. She knew she was having trouble deciding on her robe and wanted his opinion. She valued his opinion highly, because he was one of her best friends, and she knew he'd never let her walk out looking ridiculous.

Daniel smiled sweetly at her and looked at some of the robes in front of him. “We all have to get those blue uniforms. I didn’t think we had much of an option.” He shrugged. “I definitely think I’ll wear pants for my uniform, I just don’t have the legs for a skirt or a dress.” He teased, chuckling softly at his own joke.

“Mel? Would you want to meet my parents?” Daniel asked curiously. He was hoping to introduce them to Heather and Melody. The two girls were his best friends. It was only proper for his parents to meet them.

Melody smiled brightly at the boy and shrugged her shoulders. "The uniforms are different than what I'm used to wearing. My new family taught me how to make my own clothes." She shrugged again. 'It saves on money and they turn out adorable." She said and spun in her sky blue summer dress. Moving her hair to her shoulders, she laughed a little. "Yes!" Mel exclaimed. "I'd love to meet your parents, I'm sure they're lovely." she said enthusiastically. "I hope you get to meet my family as well soon! Maybe you can come to Dresden for Christmas?" She asked, wanting him very much to say yes.
