Better Than Ever Empty Better Than Ever

Becoming a radio personality was literally the best thing to ever happen to Rene. He was making good money and had an apartment and was able to have as much freedom as he wanted, but right now he wanted to spoil his girlfriend for the night. Fiona wasn't the type of girl that he could just shower in jewelery to pamper, no, Rene wanted to spoil Fiona in a great time.

So, he excitedly called her and told her to meet him at the Black Sun. He planned on buying her dinner and taking her on a night on the town. They could go bowling, sit underneath the Eiffel tower-whatever would make Fiona happy.

Rene hummed quietly as he waited outside of the Black Sun Diner on a bench. A kid who had seen the telecast of his radio show pointed him out to his father and Rene waved politely. That was something he would have to get used to, he supposed. Then his eyes fell on his favorite person. "Fiona!" He smiled widely and stood. "How are you my dear?" He kissed her gently.

This whole moving out of home and working lark was exactly that. A lark. Fiona didn't want to move out of home but even with magic travelling that distance to and from work paid havoc on the body. Thus she found a place much closer to her job in Cheval. Not close but at least in the same country. And she could always pop back home just in time to give her younger sisters a really Christmas surprise.

She shoved her hands in her pockets whilst pocketing her wand and whistled a tune whilst walking down the street toward the Black Sun Diner. It wasn't a place she was familiar with but Fiona thrived on seeing the unfamiliar. That was the best thing about now living full time in France. She got to see more of the country than she'd previously don. And of course there was Rene. The whole reason why she was here tonight.

Fiona smiled up at the wizard's greeting. "Oh perfectly lovely," she said, her smile widening. "I actually managed to get everything unpacked without having a fight with my mother about where I should put what." Granted she'd mostly stood back and let her mother do everything with the claim she was watching her amazing wand work. "Did you know how much can be done with a flick of a wand? I mean to say the stuff my mother can do is so much more than we ever learnt at Beauxbatons."

"I'm glad getting settled has been easy." Rene gently took Fiona's hand and escorted her inside. They were quickly seated towards the back of the diner so they could have privacy. "If you need anything, it's a pretty easy apparation away for me now, so you just send me a letter or whatever you see to be necessary." Rene smiled, but he doubted Fiona would need anything. She was a strong girl. Rene forgot how lucky he was to have her sometimes, but in moments like this, where it was just the two of them, Rene noticed really easily.

He also noticed something else really easily. "Is that a tattoo?" He asked rather curiously. He was far from against the tattoo. It looked cute on her wrist, and a jester's hat fit her perfectly. It was just interesting. He'd never pegged Fiona for a tattoo girl. He figured she probably went with Fane or something, the man had about a thousand. "I like it." He smiled gently at her.

"So if I find a spider in the bath tub..." She let the sentence hang knowing full well she would never send a letter for something so trivial as a spider. Spiders were cool in her opinion. "I could just send a letter asking you to come over anyway. It's a funny place I live in. A great big mansion divided up into flats because the owner thought it was too big." Certainly Fiona would never have been able to afford to live at Montagnard Peak otherwise.

"Yep," Fiona replied proudly, "and it hurt like the dickens getting it. Mum and dad haven't see it yet. I'm thinking of just flashing my wrist at Christmas to see their reaction." Dad was bound to freak. Fiona was counting on it. "I'm glad you do." She brushed her hair behind her ear. "Did you notice my extra earring too?"
