There was no question as to where Fane stood when it came to his opinion on tattoos. With an earnest love for decorating one's body with ink, it was almost painful for Fane to wait until he graduated to get tattooed. Now that he was of age, Fane wasted little time to get his first tattoo.

He had started with a small tattoo on his arm to ease himself into it and later came back for a large sized Virgin Mary starting at his elbow and spanning across much of his forearm. However, Fane wasn't finished getting inked yet and not a month after his last tattoo, he was already considering going back for another. This time he wanted something personal, and though his tattoo idea wasn't the embodiment of a victory over a long running personal struggle, he still fancied the idea enough to go. However, he wanted to go with someone this time, for it always seemed more fun going with a friend. Majority of his friends were deep in the semester at Beauxbatons academy, though, and even his cousin Osmund said no to his offer. He had one last person he could try and much to his surprise, his old pranking partner agreed to go with him.

"I know of this great place in Paris," Fane had said, which was true. He had gone to Go Ask Alice; Tattoos and Piercings for all of his tattoos so far. He even knew Alice pretty well by now and only continuously remained loyal to that particular tattoo parlor because Alice happened to be rather attractive and had decent music taste. "We'll go next week, so I hope you've got a tattoo idea," Fane excitedly relayed.

The day couldn't have arrived any sooner and Fane had quickly downed a breakfast at La Petit Dragon before heading out to pick up Fiona. "So I was thinking of getting the word Halloween on my knuckles. Wouldn't that be cool? What were you thinking?" Fane asked, while they walked to the place. Once they arrived, Fane held open the door for Fiona to enter first and then followed. "Hey Alice!" He called to the backroom where Alice was already working on a customer's tattoo. She waved and then made a motion that she would get to them in a moment, which Fane waved back to and then took a seat by a chart of different piercings. "Pretty cool huh?" She said to Fiona.

Tattoos were furthest from her mind when Fiona was coming up with ideas for what she could do with her new found freedom. She had a job she loved. Her house was set up. Her plans for her redecoration of her sisters' bedrooms were a goer. Mum and dad wouldn't suspect a thing because Fiona had plans to be home for Christmas.

When Fane approached her about getting a tattoo she didn't think twice. It was another thing to add to her celebration of her freedom. Her only problem was a tattoo idea. One week in which to come up with an idea. Her mind went over the sorts of tattoos which would be feminine as away to appease her father. Butterflies. Birds. Flowers. None of them were right. Then, when she was unpacking a new order for Mr. Van Allen's shop she got the perfect idea.

Fiona was smiling wildly when Fane came round to pick her up. "That'd be brilliant," she agreed. "Jester's hat for me. Right about here." She pointed to the inside of her wrist. Dad's going to freak when he sees me at Christmas." She made it sound like it would be the highlight of her life. Agitating her father was not something Fiona normally set out to do. She just did it naturally. This time it will be different. It would be premeditated and she would have a cool new tattoo.

She entered the shop with wide-eyed interest. Never before had Fiona ever set a foot in a place like this. She nodded vaguely at Fane's question. "Hey. What do you think if I get a piercing in the upper part of my ear? Right about here?" She put her finger on a spot where her left ear curved round. "It's so dull and boring just having one piercing in each lobe. Even then it'd been hard to talk my parents in to letting me get my ears pierced." Now though they had no say in her choices. It was her money to spend how she saw fit.

Even if Fiona disagreed with his tattoo idea, he was going to go for it anyway. He knew it'd look great once it was done and he wasn't going to be regretting tattoos any time soon. "Nice," He replied, as Fiona told him her tattoo idea and he grinned as she added that her Dad would hate it. "Pissing off the old man, eh? That's why I had gotten those piercings," Fane replied, moderately impressed. He knew Fiona was a rebel from how she liked to prank despite her status at school, but this was something new and he liked it.

His question was rhetorical and therefore he wasn't too offended when Fiona replied with a distracted nod. He was soon informed of what was on her mind as she then asked him a question. "I think it'd be hot," He replied, placing his feet up on the coffee table before him. He, himself, was done with getting piercings, having taken out his nose ring and lip ring and left them to close, but he was still all for expression through piercings. "Well the only good thing about being an adult is that you don't have to listen to what your parents think," Fane relayed, and then straightened in his seat as Alice emerged at the front of the parlor. She accepted the money from her patron and saw them off before turning towards Fane and Fiona.

"Alright then, who's going first?" She asked, looking between them as he pulled off her gloves by the fingers and tossed them in the trash.

Fiona grinned and nodded. He expressed it so much better than she ever could. "That's exactly it. The best bit is leaving and knowing he'll still be raving about it long after I'm back home in France." Oh yes. Her dad could be very good at ranting on over the same thing for months on end. Usually to do with her or Mabel. Grace was just the little angel who did no wrong. Sickening.

"There has to be some compensation for everything else we have to do now we're adults," Fiona replied with an ever widening grin. All that other stuff such as bills and groceries were a pain but the freedom from parents had to be the best benefit of all this cycle of work and bills. She should be thankful she didn't have the stupid 'lectrics she'd learnt about in Muggle Studies to pay for she supposed.

The time was here, Fiona noted, as the woman she assumed was Alice had come out of the back room. "Me," she said as she stood quickly eager to begin the new adventure in her life. "I'm majorly excited about this. Can you do a tattoo of a jester's hat here on the inside of this wrist." She held up her left hand with the inside toward Alice. "Oh and I'll be after a piercing in my upper ear as well. All of it today." There was no wait until next time with Fiona. And she was sure she brought enough money to pay for it all.

"Well, if there are compensations for the frivolties of youth, I can deal with them later, after I'm done having my fun," Fane replied, grinning widely. He knew enough what Fiona was talking about. Money, for one, was limiting. His job wasn't one that brought in the cash and he wasn't sure how much longer he could milk his parents for a little allowance here and there. In the meantime, he was going to do what he wanted and as much of it as possible and one of his favorite things was tattooing.

As Alice appeared from the back, Fane sat back in his seat comfortably. He could wait for his tattoo. It wasn't his first one and it wouldn't be his last, whereas he could only guess how excited Fiona was and allowed for her to go first when she eagerly jumped up at the question.

"Sure thing," Alice answered. "The piercing will be quicker, so we'll start with that. Where'd you say you wanted it?" Fane heard Alice question, examing the ear that was to be pierced and the wrist where a tattoo was soon to be. Alice flashed a mischevious smile, looking between Fane and Fiona.

"It's not like that, trust me," he answered, to which Alice laughed and rolled her eyes.

"Come on back here, hun, and I'll get to you next, Fane," Alice said, disappearing into the back once again and began sterilizing a needle.

"Great. Right here," she said and pointed to her upper right ear. She knew there would be pain but how much compared to her lobes she would soon enough find out. Pain she could handle when she knew the outcome would be to horrify her parents. As well as looking cool of course.

Fiona shook her head. "I've already got a boyfriend," she added to confirm what Fane said was true. "This one is just my partner in crime and my alibi." How anyone could think she and Fane were anything more was beyond Fiona. It wasn't like they were holding hands or anything like what she got up to with Rene in public.

"Catcha ya soon," she quipped before following Alice out for her two new decorations. The first was soon over and Fiona was happy with the result of seeing the single extra earring in her right ear. That lopsided look was perfect. Then came the longer more difficult operation. There was pain but it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be when she first saw what was used for the tattooing. Her fear of what Fane would say if she passed out was stronger than the fear of the process itself.

"You ready?" she asked when she finally came out. "I'll be waiting here for you."
